Ranking 2025 NFL "Rivalry" Uniforms

For decades, NFL franchises have sported dozens of classic uniforms. Many of these silhouettes have become staples in sports history and fashion culture. The art of designing a unique jersey while being facile is a difficult field to find success in, especially in the modern era. Many design concepts have already been taken and brought to fruition.

Just when NFL fans thought they had seen everything, the Rivalry series was brought to life in 2025 with eight teams debuting new, alternative looks. The rest of the league is presumed to follow suit in the coming years, but for now, jersey nerds can debate which new uniform is the best by ranking the eight fresh ones.

8. New York Jets

While the New York Jets’ Rivalry uniform is clean and simple, it is a little bland compared to the others.  The uniform could have taken much more risk with their classic Gotham Green color, one of the best primary colors a team can sport in the NFL. The Jets butt fumbled this one.

7. Los Angeles Rams

Similarly to the Jets, the Los Angeles Rams did not seem to want to think outside of the box for their Rivalry uniform; all they seemed to want to do was change the primary jersey color to black. The black does mesh well with the bright blue and yellow sleeves, sure, but the jersey design is barely different than the team’s standard kit, one that many NFL fans consider to be among the worst in the league.

6. Arizona Cardinals

Compared to the Jets and Rams, the Arizona Cardinals took a lot of risk on their Rivalry uniform by adding a spotty feature to their jersey. While cool, the tan color makes this concept lose some points; making the splatter red or black would have enhanced this design. With that said, the desert-like color scheme aligns with the team’s geographical location, so they get some points back for creativity.

5. San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers did not do much wrong with their Rivalry jersey. In fact, this new addition to their uniform rotation is probably the best. The font on the jersey is also a subtle alternative detail that enhances the overall look.

4. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills’ Rivalry jersey screams buffalo. The all-white base combined with the chrome elements in the logo creatively symbolize snow and ice. They may have done a little too much by adding icy details to logo on the sleeves, but overall, a clean and nice jersey.

3. New England Patriots

The New England Patriots scored a win with their Rivalry jersey, something they have had trouble acquiring since Tom Brady left. For a team with one of the simplest color schemes in the NFL, they were able to create a new, fresh look with the glaucous blue as the primary jersey color. The new “N.E” logo on the sleeves is very nice, and the subtle hints of red make it feel like a Patriots jersey.

2. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins sport one of the most unique color schemes in all of sports, and they took advantage of that by creating a fun Rivalry set. They went with black for the core color of the jersey, but the aqua numbers and bright orange name plates are what make the jersey pop. The helmet follows suit with a matte black helmet and aqua and orange stripes down the middle. This uniform is instantly in the elite tier of NFL uniforms.

1. Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks’ Rivalry uniform is proof in the pudding that a helmet can make or break a look for an NFL team. The jersey itself is clean with the grey base and classic Seahawk logo, but the striped sleeve pattern brings it to life. The helmet is the highlight of this kit, as the iridescent green is a brand new color that makes the whole uniform pop. This jersey is a great addition to a team that already has one of the best rotations in the NFL.
